In response to the Coronavirus National Emergency and statewide and global shutdowns, Paper Mill Playhouse has transitioned the Summer Conservatory to an online platform for the summer of 2020. Determinations about the status of the summer of 2021 will be made when more information and directives are available to us by the State of New Jersey.
Conservatory students undertake a rigorous six-week program of online courses designed to enhance performance skills while instilling the technique, discipline, and professionalism needed to excel in the performing arts.
The end of the session is devoted to preparation for the New Voices performance, which will also transfer to a video format and premiere online in the fall.
Taking part in New Voices is a remarkable opportunity, providing experience and exposure that simply can’t be obtained anywhere else. Participation is a great honor—a chance for students to demonstrate their talent on a grand scale.
Based on skill, experience, and the quality of their audition, Conservatory students are grouped into three companies, allowing them to develop at their own pace while working on age- and skill-appropriate material.
Conservatory Companies & Tuition
The Junior Company (ages 10–12)
The Junior Plus Company (ages 12–14)
The Senior Company (ages 15–18)
Tuition for all Companies is $1,950*

How to Audition
The auditions for the 2020 Summer Musical Theater Conservatory have been completed. Audition dates for the summer of 2021 will be announced in December 2020.
