[BEAST] Male, 30-40. A Prince transformed into a terrifying beast for his lack of compassion. He is hot-tempered and commanding, but has a warm, loving heart buried far beneath his gruff exterior. Vocal range A2 to F4.

[GASTON] Male, 30-40. The egotistical, ultra-masculine villain determined to marry Belle. He is manipulative yet charming and earnest. Vocal range A2 to E4.

[LEFOU] Male, 25-35. Gaston’s bumbling sidekick. He is loyal, energetic, and optimistic, but not quite the brightest guy. Vocal range: B2 to F#4.

[MAURICE] Male, 55-65. Belle’s loving, eccentric father. A child at heart and inventor in his own world. Vocal range Bb2 to Db4.

[LUMIERE] Male, 35-45. A suave, debonair enchanted candelabra. He is loyal and steadfast servant. Vocal range F#3 to F#4.

[COGSWORTH] Male, 40-55. A tightly-wound enchanted mantle clock and the head of the Beast’s household. He is uptight, strict, and punctual but also hard-working, faithful, and thorough. Vocal range A2 to E4.

[MRS. POTTS] Female, 45-55. A warm-hearted, maternal enchanted teapot. She is loyal, caring, and playful. Vocal range F#3 to G5.

[CHIP] Male, 7-10. An enchanted teacup and Mrs. Potts’ darling little boy. He is innocent, playful, and bright-eyed. Vocal range A3 to F5.

[BABETTE] Female, 25-35. A saucy, enchanted feather-duster, and the object of Lumiere’s affections. She is the playful, gorgeous seductive French maid. Vocal range C4 to F5.

[MONSIEUR D’ARQUE] Male, 35-55. The scheming proprietor of the local insane asylum. He is a dark, sinister villain who aides Gaston in his plot to marry Belle. Vocal range D3 to A4.

Off Stage

 

Digital Media and Content Coordinator (full-time)

Paper Mill Playhouse, winner of the Regional Theatre Tony Award is seeking an extremely creative digital storyteller and strategic online marketer to develop, implement, track and optimize all of  the theater’s digital campaigns. This is a full-time position within the marketing and communications department, and reports to Paper Mill Playhouse’s Director of Press and Public Relations.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Content Management and Creation
• The Digital Media and Content Coordinator will work with other marketing and public relations teams to create and/or manage the creation of, appropriate content for the theater’s website, e-blasts, social media and other marketing efforts.
• Create and maintain a photo and video library of Paper Mill Playhouse mainstage productions, education programs and special events.
• Produce multimedia content to engage consumers on multiple platforms including, but not
limited to: video, podcasts, blogs, articles and social media presentations.
• Work with Paper Mill’s Director of Press and Public Relations to coordinate the creation of all promotional videos, including show footage (b-roll) from conception and storyboarding to completion.

Social Media
• Work with Paper Mill’s Director of Press and Public Relations to create exciting social
media content with a connection to the mission of the institution that will generate high levels of engagement. Current Platforms: Facebook, Twitter, lnstagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.
• Work with partner agencies to implement strategic Facebook Ad campaigns to drive attendance, revenues and promote Paper Mill’s theatrical productions, special events, education classes, fundraising initiatives, news and more.
• Ability to tie Paper Mill Playhouse related content within trending social media
conversations and topics.
• Respond appropriately to consumers reaching out to the theater on social media networks in a timely matter.
• Provide analytical data to support new and ongoing campaigns for optimal ROI.

Website Administration
• Work with Paper Mill’s marketing and Information Technology team to assist with day-to-day upkeep of the theater’s desktop and mobile websites, including updating text, links, photos, embedded videos, uploading documents and forms, and more.
• Monitor Paper Mill’s search engine optimization and google ranking to ensure the best
possible placement in search engines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Reporting to the Director of Press and Public Relations, the Digital Media and Content Coordinator works directly with nearly every department. Serious candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in an arts-related industry managing social media and content creation.
• Has a passion for theater.
• Highly creative with a proven track record in creating and executing multimedia campaigns
that meet or exceed sales goals, while reaching high levels of engagement.
• Must be comfortable managing ad budgets for all multimedia projects and ad campaigns,
tracking performance and reporting on results.
• Proficiency in: Facebook Power Editor, Adobe Suite (Photoshop/After Effects/Premiere Pro) or Apple equivalent, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, website administration.
• Should exhibit a high degree of organization (both project oriented and a multi-tasker),
attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Positive can-do attitude; ability to lead a project from conception to completion.
• Enjoys working collaboratively as a team.
• Photography, videography and graphic design experience are a plus.
• Ability to work on select weekday evenings and weekends required.

Telesales Rep

Paper Mill Playhouse is currently accepting applications for salespeople to work on our season Subscription and Membership drives. Interested candidates need to be well spoken, dependable, and sales oriented. Must be able to work well under pressure. Paid training, ongoing sales support, complimentary tickets to our main season shows. Hourly rate plus incentives and bonuses.

A minimum of 4 shifts per week are required. Shifts currently available are:

  • Monday – Thursday 4PM to 7:30PM

Bartender

Paper Mill is seeking staff for the concessions bar. Duties include: setting up and breaking down the snack bar, maintaining an accurate inventory count during each show, preparing drinks, handling cash and credit card transactions with guests. Candidate must be able to:
• do simple math calculations without use of a calculating device.
• be able to lift at least 20 lbs.
• stand for long periods of time
• have ability to work well under pressure
• communicate well with customers

Customer service experience required. Bartending experience is a plus but not required.

This is a part-time position, hours begin two hours before each show and must be available through the first two hours of the show (clean up after intermission).
Pay rate begins at $10/hour.

Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to assist us during performances in the theater and during office hours in administration. There are many different kinds of opportunities available for people with different areas of interest, skill sets, and time availability.

Internships

For high school students

Paper Mill’s Theater School Internships are open to high school students who assist with Theater School classes for two hours per week. A number of special benefits, including complimentary tickets and shadowing opportunities are available to Theater School Interns. Theater School internships run from September through April and applications are usually available the preceding June.

For college students and college graduates

Paper Mill offers non-paying internships in all areas of administration, including education programming, marketing, fundraising and finance, company management, casting, and non-union production management. Internships are available only during the presenting season from September through June. Paper Mill Playhouse does not provide housing for interns and internships are not available during the summer months.
