Audition Notices are posted on this page (as the information becomes available). Audition Notices are also posted in the Backstage Newspaper two weeks prior to the auditions. These notices contain the name and address of the audition location, audition times, the roles available, what we are looking for, and requested audition material.

Annie – Children’s Auditions

Auditions for the Paper Mill Playhouse production of Annie will be held in New York City on Sunday, September 10th, 2017 from 10:00am – 4:00pm at the offices of Telsey & Co:

1501 Broadway, (between 43rd & 44th Sts.) Suite 510


  • Annie: (Union or non-union) Female, age 10 – 12. A street-wise orphan. Spunky, friendly, big-voiced. Vocal range: A3 – G5
  • Orphans: (NON-UNION PERFORMERS ONLY) Female, ages 6-13. The other girls in the orphanage with Annie. These girls are gritty, neglected and vulnerable, yet basically honest and potentially lovable. Includes Molly, Kate, Tessie, Pepper, July, and Duffy.

  • Do NOT arrive before 9:30am
  • Due to space constraints, please limit attendance to 1 adult per child
  • Please bring a picture and resume stapled together
  • All children will FIRST be asked to sing “Hard Knock Life” – music will be provided
  • They may be asked to stay and dance. Please bring comfortable clothing.

Rehearsals will take place in New York City and at Paper Mill in Millburn, NJ and begin October 30, 2017.

Performances at Paper Mill run November 22–December 31 (Mondays & Tuesdays off).

Must be available for entire schedule – no exception.

Paper Mill Playhouse does NOT provide housing.

Off Stage

Telesales Rep

Paper Mill Playhouse is currently accepting applications for salespeople to work on our season Subscription and Membership drives. Interested candidates need to be well spoken, dependable, and sales oriented. Must be able to work well under pressure. Paid training, ongoing sales support, complimentary tickets to our main season shows. Hourly rate plus incentives and bonuses.

A minimum of 4 shifts per week are required. Shifts currently available are:

  • Monday – Friday 12PM to 3:30PM
  • Monday – Thursday 4PM to 7:30PM

VIP Donor Lounge Host

Paper Mill Playhouse is currently accepting applications for a part-time host (15-20 hours per week) available for shift work in our VIP donor lounge. The lounge will be open during our mainstage production season, September – June.

Duties include: setting up and breaking down the bar, maintaining an accurate inventory count during each show. The job requires some moderate lifting. Candidate must have ability to work well under pressure. Customer service experience required.

Candidates must be 18+ years old. Previous bartending experience a plus. This is a part-time position; hours begin one and a half hours before each show and must be available through the first two hours of the show (clean up after intermission).

A perfect job for anyone with a love of theater! Successful candidate will receive a paid hourly wage plus complimentary tickets to each Paper Mill Playhouse production.

Volunteers are needed to assist us during performances in the theater and during office hours in administration. There are many different kinds of opportunities available for people with different areas of interest, skill sets, and time availability.

For high school students

Paper Mill’s Theatre School Internships are open to high school students who assist with Theatre School classes for two hours per week. A number of special benefits, including complimentary tickets and shadowing opportunities are available to Theatre School Interns. Theatre School internships run from September through April and applications are usually available the preceding June.

For college students and college graduates

Paper Mill offers non-paying internships in all areas of administration, including education programming, marketing, fundraising and finance, company management, casting, and non-union production management. Internships are available only during the presenting season from September through June. Paper Mill Playhouse does not provide housing for interns and internships are not available during the summer months.
