Children’s Theatre on Tour is an outreach component of our Theatre School. These classes tour productions to various local children’s hospitals, nursing homes and schools. Auditions are held each Spring for the following September. Students must complete a production class for ages 9 and up to be eligible to audition.
No, we ask that you complete the required courses with us before you audition for these classes.
Classes are held in the Black Box Classroom at Paper Mill Playhouse, 22 Brookside Drive, Millburn, NJ or at Paper Mill Studios, 20 Main Street, Millburn, NJ.
Typically, classes are an hour or an hour and a half long once a week.
The Workshop is technique-focused and students typically are assigned solos of some kind and receive individualized feedback while working towards a more formal showcase. The Adventures series is centered around the joy and creativity of musical theater. Students are invited to celebrate their love of performing in a low-pressure setting.
Please see class description. Production classes culminate in a show with sets and costumes. For other classes, students perform either a showcase of class materials or what is called a “sharing” on the last day of class. These are informal classes where family and friends are invited to watch a typical class or watch a presentation.
Auditions for our mainstage productions are separate from our Education department. Please visit this link for information: Employment Opportunities at Paper Mill Playhouse
