(ages 12 to 15)

This class is a complete theatre experience for teens that includes warm-up theatre games, improvisation, and acting exercises. With an emphasis on building collaborative and communication skills, the class culminates in an open house performance with work created by the students.

18 weeks - $575

Wednesdays 5:00 pm - 6:00pm


(ages 13-17)

The Children’s Theatre On Tour Company rehearses a full one-hour musical that tours to schools, libraries, community centers, and other local organizations. The class is filled by audition only. Completion of Creative Drama I or II or a Paper Mill teen class is a prerequisite to audition is a prerequisite to audition. SOLD OUT

(ages 9-11)

Mix it up with a sampling of two-hour theatre and dance master classes offered on Monday evenings. Explore “Agents & Auditioning” in September, “Tap Dance Essentials” in October, “Musical Theatre Auditioning” in November, “Principles of Sketch Comedy” in January, “Stage Make-Up Essentials” in February and “Broadway Choreography” in March. Classes are grouped by age. Master class dates are listed on the registration form.

(ages 12-15)

Musical theatre performance is more than a pretty voice; it’s acting through a song. Students explore how to interpret and connect to the lyrics to tell the story in the song. Selection of appropriate material for auditions and performance will be stressed, along with basic vocal technique and breath control. Staged musical numbers will also be introduced.

18 weeks - $595 (includes accompanist fee)

(ages 12 to 17)

Individual attention helps students learn breath control and vocal placement in a nurturing one-to-one environment. Exercises are used to strengthen and protect the voice and both popular and theatre songs are rehearsed. Lessons are 30 minutes each.

Students will work with scenes and songs from contemporary and classic Musical Theatre pieces. Development of characters is stressed as well as “acting through a song” to tell the story.

(ages 12 to 15)

In this class the company will work on a scripted dramatic piece to explore advanced elements of performance such as establishing an emotional connection to a character, vocal variety and physicality. A performance will be presented at the end of the class demonstrating the skills and material learned.

(ages 7-18)

In collaboration with VSA-NJ, an organization which provides a wide array of arts programming for children & adults with all types of disabilities, this class will include theatre improvisation, storytelling, music, movement, and some visual art. The series will creatively address and include diverse learning styles and modes of communication. When applicable, a student's attendant, who may be a parent, caregiver, nurse, personal aide, or sign interpreter, is welcome to stay for the class. The course will end with a fun sharing for family and friends. Typical siblings are welcome at no extra cost.
