Paper Mill Playhouse is a cultural treasure, recognized with the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award for its impact on the region and beyond. After nearly 80 seasons, Paper Mill annually welcomes more than 220,000 people from across the Garden State to over 180 mainstage performances as well as audience enrichment activities, theater classes, outreach and family programs. Paper Mill is center stage in bringing the new American musical theater to life. Artistic and production professionals are onsite throughout the year, and their active involvement raises the impact of Paper Mill’s educational programs.
With decades of cultural access leadership, Paper Mill enables over 5,000 patrons with disabilities to experience live theater with dignity and independence. Patrons with hearing and vision loss can enjoy the arts through Braille and Large-Print programs, audio-described performances, sensory seminars with cast members, open captioning, American Sign Language interpreted performances, and infrared assistive listening. In 2011, Paper Mill was the first professional theater in the country to produce a comprehensive autism-friendly show.
As a not-for-profit arts organization, Paper Mill Playhouse depends on your generous spirit to support these important initiatives. Ticket sales provide only 50% of our operating budget.
