Are you a dinner-theater?
No, we do not allow food in the house of the theater with the exception of bottled water or drinks in a sealable cup (obtainable at the bar for a fee). We offer delicious lunch and dinner fare in the Carriage House prior to most performances.
How much do tickets packages cost?
Tickets prices depend on which package you buy and the location of the seats. 3-show packages start at $111. Prices are subject to change and additional fees.
Are there service charges when I buy tickets?
If you choose to purchase tickets over the phone or the internet, there will be an additional $5.00 in service charge on each ticket. This charge does not apply to tickets purchased in person at our box office.  Subscription fees are always applied, however the phone fee will be waived on additional ticket purchases.
Do I have to purchase a ticket for my child if he/she will sit on my lap?
Yes. Everyone, regardless of age, must have a paid ticket and unfortunately there are no lap passes. No one under the age of four is permitted to any mainstage production. Please, no babes in arms.
When is the Box Office Open? What time are the performances?
Box Office hours are:
Monday–Saturday 10:00AM–6:00PM
Sunday 12:00PM–6:00PM
Performance days until 9:00PM
Closed Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July.
Summer Box Office hours from July 4th through Labor Day are:
Monday-Friday, 10:00AM-6:00PM
Saturday 10:00AM-4:00PM
Closed Sunday
Performances are Wednesday through Sunday. Please check your tickets.
If I cannot come to the show, can I exchange my tickets or be refunded?
Yes! Tickets can be exchanged for a different performance of the same production, by calling the Box Office at: 973.376.4343. There is no fee for subscribers to exchange their tickets, but all other tickets are subject to a $5-per-ticket exchange fee. The deadline to exchange a ticket for an evening performance is noon on the day of the show. The deadline to exchange a ticket for a matinee performance is 5:00pm the previous day. Tickets cannot be exchanged after the performance has taken place. All ticket sales are final, and no refunds are offered.
What happens in the event of inclement weather?
If you are concerned about inclement weather, you can exchange your tickets for a different performance date by calling the Box Office at: 973.376.4343. Paper Mill Playhouse will have its latest weather updates available on our website and our Facebook page.
Do you have Family Pack subscriptions?
Yes, save an additional 10% off subscriptions for children. When you purchase an adult subscription, you can add a subscription for each of your children (age 18 or younger) at an additional10% off—that’s 50% off the single ticket price.
If I lost my ticket can I still come see the show?
If your tickets are lost or stolen, simply come to the Box Office prior to the performance with valid photo identification to have your ticket reprinted.
How should I dress for the Paper Mill?
Semi-casual or neat casual.
Can I bring my 3-year-old?
Children under the age of 4 are not permitted into the theater for main stage performances. Children under the age of 3 are permitted to our Children’s Shows and School Group performances for designated age-appropriate shows. See Children’s Shows or For School Groups. Patrons should check the age recommendation for individual shows.
Can I bring my camera?
Pictures are NOT permitted inside the theater or of the performance you are seeing.
What is the theater etiquette?
The theater is not like anywhere else. When the audience laughs at jokes or applauds a great performance, the actors, dancers, and singers hear it and know all their hard work was worth it. Unfortunately, the performers also hear other sounds – talking, ringing cell phones, crying children, and the crinkling of candy wrappers. Did you know the actors can even see the light from your cell phone when you write a text message? It’s true. All those distractions upset the actors’ performance and also disturb other audience members. That’s why we ask that you please follow a few simple ground rules:
  • Turn off all cell phones and other devices and leave them off
    throughout the show.
  • Resist the urge to talk – remember , the actors can hear you.
  • If you’re with young children who start to grow restless and noisy, take them out to the lobby. All shows are streamed live to the flat screen TV in the lobby.
  • If you have cough drops or other items that come in noisy wrappers, please open them before the show begins.
  • And if someone is disturbing your ability to enjoy the show, talk to one of our ushers – they’re ready to help.
  • Also, just like movie theaters, we do not allow picture – taking or filming during the show and ask that you please keep your feet away from the seat in front of you.
So make yourself comfortable, have a great time and don’t forget to help make magic happen – applaud when you see something you like!
Where can I use my subscriber restaurant discount?

All Subscribers get a 20% discount off their meals when they show their subscriber ID card to these participating restaurants. To view the restaurant’s website, click on the name below.
