Autism-Friendly Performances are designed and intended for families with children who have autism or other developmental disabilities. This program is designed and planned in cooperation with Paper Mill Autism Advisory Team. At these performances the theater environment will be altered, providing a comfortable and judgment-free space that is welcoming for these families. 

The Paper Mill Autism Advisory Team: Linda S. Meyer Ed.D., MPA , BCBA-D, CPT ; Kelly A. Carlile M.A. BCBA; Jeffrey Jacobs M.A. BCBA.

Autism-Friendly Performances are recommended for those families bringing a loved one having a developmental disability, and their teachers and advocates who are familiar with and accepting of behaviors exhibited by some children with autism.

Autism-Friendly accommodations Include:

  • House lights on, but dimmed, inside the theater
  • Consistent sound level and lower volume
  • BYO reinforcements and motivational systems
  • Kids are free to talk and to leave their seat under parental supervision
  • BYO snacks & drinks
  • Gender-neutral family bathrooms
  • Activity Area with Chill-Out zone provided
  • On-site support teams

This new musical is a twist on the classic fairytale Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the bravest Chihuahua of them all? Skippyjon Jones the Siamese cat who things he's a Mexican Chihuahua of course! While his sisters listen to Snow White, Skippy heads off for the REAL adventure awaiting him in his closet!

Along the way, they learn a little something new about inspiration. Join Jimmy and Pete on an adventure of friendship,all the way to Paris and back in a VW Bus.

It’s an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers, and a little bit of magic. The show that received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including best musical. It’s a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious musical adventure!

At some performances the audience will be video recorded and studied by professional behavior analysts to help provide future guests with the best possible experience. All recordings will remain confidential and will not be viewed by anyone other than the Paper Mill Autism Advisory Team and a select team of professionals.
