Most classes culminate in a performance or an informal "sharing" for family and friends on the last day of the session.

CLASS LIST

ADULT ACTING I

(ages 18 and up)
Whether you are taking your first acting class, looking to polish your presentation skills or seeking more comfort in front of an audience, this class is for you. Working to develop basic acting and communication skills that can be used in any walk of life, this class creates a fun and safe environment for you to explore your creativity.

8 weeks - $300

INTRODUCTION TO VOICE-OVER

(ages 18 and up)
There is more to becoming a successful voice-over performer than just having a "nice voice"! From commercials to promos, animation to industrials, station ID's to ADR, there is money to be made in the voice-over industry. Using professional studio recording equipment and actual scripts, participants will be introduced to proper microphone technique, diction, cold reads, script analysis, booth etiquette, and the many "tricks of the trade" that will help put you on the path to success as a voice-over actor!

8 weeks - $300.00

VOICE-OVER WORKSHOP II

(ages 18 and up)

(January option)

This class will build on the techniques explored in "Intro to Voice-Over". Professional studio equipment and actual scripts will be used to further each individual's potential as a voice-over actor. Creating a demo, home studios and marketing your voice will be just some of the topics explored. Guest speakers* will include a top NYC voice-over agent and a prominent recording studio owner. Completion of Introduction to Voice-Over is a prerequisite for enrollment. *Guests subject to change.

VOCAL COACHING/AUDITION WORKSHOP

(ages 18 and up)
Students explore how to interpret and connect to the lyrics to tell the story in the song. Selection of appropriate material for auditions and performance will be stressed, along with basic vocal technique and breath control. Students will enhance their stage presence and increase their comfort level when singing in front of an audience.

ADULT ACTING II

(ages 18 and up)

(January option)

A continuation of skills studied in Acting I, basic physical exercises lead to monologue and scene preparation, advancing the actor's craft.

BREAKFAST AT PAPER MILL

(ages 18 and up)
Start the week off right with this lively discussion group! You'll meet new friends and celebrate the joys of theatre each week as a Paper Mill staff member or visiting guest artist leads the discussion on a unique aspect of the live theatre experience. Backstage tours and special performances highlight the sessions! A continental breakfast is served. The group meets on select Mondays from September to May!

16 weeks - $10 per week (payable weekly).
