NOMINATION LISTINGS: We regret any misspellings, missing credits or wrong credits on the list. Incorrect credits could mean that your program did not include a credit for that category, or that the information was incorrectly communicated to us by Evaluators. If you have any corrections, please email them in writing to Carrie Rubino at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it as soon as possible so that we may include correct information in subsequent press releases, the website listing, and the awards ceremony program.

NOMINATIONS PROCESS: Rising Star Evaluators attended productions during the Production Round submitting recommendations for nominations. At the conclusion of the Production Round, the Nomination Round began and continued for a two-week period during which time each category's Evaluator recommendations were independently reviewed by members of the professional staff of Paper Mill Playhouse.

To advance to the Nomination Round a performance or production element must be recommended by a majority of the independent Evaluators attending their show. Recommendations submitted by Evaluators are recommendations only and do not guarantee a Final Nomination. The Nomination Committee considered all eligible candidates using support material submitted by the schools and referencing the feedback and scores provided by the Evaluators.

Nominations in the category of Outstanding Overall Production are determined through a review of support material submitted by schools, evidence of a balance of successful performances and production elements, the number of nominations received in other categories, the feedback provided by Evaluators, and the level of difficulty of the work. Each school will receive a certificate for every nomination and a listing in the Awards Ceremony.

HONORABLE MENTION: Honorable Mentions are included in each category to further reward achievement. Honorable Mention designees will receive a certificate and a program listing at the Awards Ceremony. Unfortunately, due to limited seating for the Awards Ceremony, we are unable to allocate tickets to the awards ceremony for those receiving Honorable Mention.

AWARDS CEREMONY: The Rising Star Awards ceremony will take place at Paper Mill on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 7:30 pm and nominated schools will receive information shortly about tickets. Tickets are available only through nominated schools and are not sold to the general public through the Paper Mill box office or Education Department. Schools nominated in Outstanding Overall Production will be asked to perform a number from their show and students nominated as Leading Actor and Actress will be asked to perform as well. Paper Mill will contact those schools shortly to make the necessary arrangements for these performances.

SUMMER CONSERVATORY SCHOLARSHIP: In recognition of their achievement, students nominated as Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress are offered a full scholarship to attend Paper Mill's Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory at Montclair State University (June 28 & July 31, 2010). Information will be sent to each student's school under a separate cover.

Congratulations to all participating schools for another successful year at the theater!
